God's Plan and Purposes for Marriage - Message 10 - The Husband's Role: Understanding - 1 Peter 3:7. We are sojourners and pilgrims on this earth. Our citizenship is in heaven. We are a holy nation that is traveling through this fallen world waiting for our heavenly home (Hebrews 11:13). Therefore, we must not allow the world to define the standards of the marriage relationship for us. Instead, we must strive to uphold the clear teaching of the Word of God while guarding against it being twisted. Today we learn that husband's are commanded to live with their wives in a spirit of understanding (personal insight that leads to loving care) and this requires love and wisdom as they protect and provide for their wives.
