1 John 2:26-29: We Will All Know Him

Does the apostle John really tell people that believers have no need of teachers, because the Holy Spirit will teach them all things? In this message, I explain that John is reaching back to Jeremiah's prophecy of the New Covenant to explain what makes the New Covenant new - all members of this covenant will be regenerate. All of them will know God. The church is not intended to be a mixed community like the nation of Israel was, but is made up of those who have been truly given hearts inscribed with God's Torah, His all-encompassing instruction.

Those who are truly His will truly abide in Him, and thus will not have to fear Christ's coming. Yet some will indeed fear Christ's coming, because they never were His.
