Jesus, Lord of Sabbaths

In two confrontations with the Pharisees, Jesus shows how the Sabbath is to be understood. As Lord of all sabbaths, he knows that there are higher principles than sabbath-keeping. By his own actions, use of scriptures and appeal to their reason, Jesus shows the Pharisees that they have lost their way. We focus on different ways in which Jesus is the Lord of Sabbaths and, further, is himself our Sabbath.
