Religious Immorality

This chapter depicts the formation of a religious system that was already beginning to take shape at the end of the 1st century. It is a system with a world-wide appeal and following, and that has close ties to the political and economic powers of the world stage. The chapter interprets its symbols in such a way as to leave no other conclusion than that it is a depiction of the rise and ultimate fall of Roman Catholicism. The Protestant Reformers saw its language in that fashion. There is a vast divergence between the message of this system and the tidings of the Gospel of Christ.
