Ephraim had backslidden.
However, once the Lord started to deal with him, first coming against him as a moth (Hosea 5:12), and then as a lion (5:14), he saw the error of his ways and came back to the Lord (Hosea 6:1-3).
The words he uses in Hosea 6:3 highlight 'The Route To Revival': "Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth."

b) Revival Comes IN A DELUGE!
• The Refreshing through Revival;
• The Repetition in Revival.
