the Philippian jailor had no intention of getting saved, but God had other plans
a false accusation against Paul and Silas resulted in this jailor getting saved
if we could look at the vantage point that God has, you would be able to see how God has directed you
thank God for his sovereignty in Christ in choosing you for salvation before the foundation of the world

the jailor probably looked on these people as fools
prior to the earthquake, he turned a deaf ear to what they had to say and was fast asleep
At the midnight hour, God moved in a miraculous way and caused a great earthquake
The jailer was responsible for every prisoner and if he lost his prisoners he lost his life
he was ready to kill himself and was within seconds of going to hell when out came the cry from Paul: do thyself no harm
In one sense, humanly speaking, the salvation of this man almost did not take place

There was something going on behind the scenes that lead to this man getting right with God.

By this, we mean the activity of Paul and Silas who were faithful to God in witnessing to Christ
Paul and Silas were singing and praising God
we would most likely be grumbling about our treatment and feeling sorry for ourselves
why did the other prisoners not try to escape?
the presence of God came down and silenced them

When the Philippian jailor asked his question, he was given the best advice possible.
The good news is that the jailor gave heed to what he was told.
