Acts 8:14-25

While the flood-gate of persecution had been opened with the martyrdom of Stephen, the Lord has begun to open the flood-gate of the gospel to the world, beginning at Samaria. The establishment of the first church since Jerusalem is noted here. Two other like-demonstrations of the Holy Spirit remains to be read in Scripture, and then this shall never to be repeated again. These are the gentile church at Caesarea, and the 12 Ephesian disciples of Acts 19. We explain very briefly why these demonstrations were necessary.
