Jesus' Devoted Followers

We all advertise some message by our words, actions, and the positions we hold. But what are we communicating? What impact are we having on the people around us? Peter and John had spent over three years with Jesus, listening to Him preach, witnessing the miracles He performed, impacted by Jesus' life. When Peter and John healed the lame man in Acts 3, the Sanhedrin recognized them as having been with Jesus. But what is true of those who have 'been with Jesus', who are Jesus' Devoted Followers? Jesus' devoted followers possess confident courage to speak openly about Christ, have a core commitment to obey God no matter what the cost might be, and are moved by an inner compulsion to share the good news with others. You who claim to be a follower of Jesus Christ, do you possess confident courage? Do you have an inner core? You cannot be bought or influenced by people. And is there within you an inner compulsion to share the good news, and to serve Jesus Christ? If not, you need to spend more time with Jesus to shore up the core commitments and to rekindle the fire which once burned within you
