In this word of comfort for the chastened, we learn that after discipline we need to get back up and get back in the race, pursue peace and holiness, and watch out for one another in order to prevent a root of bitterness. We also learn that sorrow over the consequences of our sin only proves we are sorry that we got caught. Sorrow over sin leads to repentance and making things right.
