The Purpose of Romans 9-11

In this opening paragraph Paul expresses his sincere concern for the unbelieving members of the nation of Israel. Then, in a passage that refutes "replacement theology," Paul reminds his readers of nine blessings of God upon the nation of Israel, including (significantly) the "promises" of God. Contrary to what some believe, God is not done with nor has He abandoned Israel in favor of the church. The church and Israel are distinctly different and both are still in the plans of God.
