Clearly God's election of grace is manifested in this portion of Scripture. He was singled out, as others were passed by purposely by the Lord. Others saw the light, heard a voice but to them Jesus Christ was not revealed. Moving through these verses briefly we land at verse 17 and there contrast filling of the Holy Spirit to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The two are not the same and much error in Christendom surrounds these two functions of the Spirit of the Lord.
