When Doing Good is Not Good
Series Exploring Exodus
42
In his goodness and grace, God not only saves us from the penalty of sin (justification) but also from sin's power (sanctification). It is not surprising, then, that when he delivered the Israelites from bondage to Egypt he next turned his attention to showing his people how he wants them to live. In chapter 18, we gain insight into Moses' work week. What Moses was doing day by day was good and important work, but the way in which he was doing it was not good. Here we are introduced to the office and function of elders as instruments God uses in sanctifying his people.
