Types of Church Censures

The form of church censures (types of church discipline) are admonition, witholding the sacrament of the Lord's Supper for a season, and excommunication. The body itself is to practice admonition among its own members and is capable to do so. When this fails, then the elders are brought in after private admonition, and when admonition with two or more witnesses fails. Church discipline is necessary for the purity and unity of the church.
