The marriage covenant between a husband and wife is very important to God. God reveals how important this promise to live together and love each other is in Malachi 2:10-16. These words are directed to the husband who is to be the spiritual leader in the home and is also most likely to be unfaithful. This is a strong charge to men to be faithful to their marriage covenant and to count their wives as their companion and best friend. There are also applications to the wives as well.
