Empty Pockets but Full Lives

282

Here we see the beginnings of religious persecution in the early Christian church. We are reminded that although salvation “is of the Jews”, nevertheless, blind to the fact that the Old Testament Law was fulfilled in Jesus Christ, many of the religious establishment in the days of the apostles were distinctly antagonistic towards the ‘new teaching' of salvation through faith in The Lord Jesus Christ.

Today also, even in much of the so-called church there is a dislike of sound Biblical doctrine, and the fact that salvation is in Jesus Christ alone.

Like Peter and John, when going up to the temple, we are encouraged to be ready and prepared should a witnessing opportunity present itself.

The purpose of the apostolic signs and wonders, the miraculous healings performed by the apostles, were all pointers to Jesus Christ. The lame man at the temple received the healing of his body, but he also received much more, the mercy of God, his sins forgiven him!

Our healing, the forgiveness of our sins, is all because of Christ on The Cross. Friend, like the lame man, leave your past life behind, and remember it takes but a moment to be saved. Come to the Saviour now!
