That We May Know Him

The petition portion of Paul's prayer appears in verses 17-19. His first petition is for the knowledge of God. Such knowledge come by the revealing work of the Holy Spirit. Further, the knowledge concerns Jesus Christ, "of Him". It's more than knowing about Him, its knowing Him. God's chosen and predestined ones were "accepted in the beloved...through His blood" (V6-7). Still there is more. God the Holy Spirit will continue to reveal Christ in the heart.
