Rejoicing and Resting in God's Sovereignty

God is sovereign - as we remember this, we can rejoice in Him and rest in Him. He is Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things by His Word. God is Sovereign Lord and King over the nations. God does not always overrule the schemes of the world; sometimes He uses them to chastise His people. God is Sovereign Saviour and Protector of the elect. The plan of the Lord is to bless His chosen inheritance, to be glorified through the salvation of the elect and the judgment of the nations. God's sovereignty flows out of a heart of love, which should cause us to rejoice and rest in Him.
