What do Christian Scientists mean when they talk about sin, God, Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit? Today were going to look at the words that both Christians and Christian Scientists use and how they have completely different meanings. Mary Baker Eddy would have us believe that for two thousand years, Christianity has been confused about the definitions of these words. As we look at these definitions, we need to ask ourselves some questions.
1. Why Did God write a Bible in what appears to be a literal format, but yet have such abstract metaphorical meanings to all of its teachings and concepts?
2. Is God so unintelligent that he cannot write to his people, a book that tells us in a straight forward, easy to understand, language, what he means?
3. Or is God so cruel, that he would write his Bible in such a confusing fashion, that the world had to wait two thousand years for someone to properly translate it? Did God just look on as the whole planet suffers with pain, sickness and death? And when God's translator arrived, why was she so unsuccessful in convincing the world of the “true” translation and revelation of God's word?
4. Or is God so weak that he could not protect his word from men corrupting its teachings?
5. If Christ's apostles understood Jesus' teachings as Mary Baker Eddy taught, how did Christianity loose the “correct” teachings of the Bible?
6. Why isn't there a single writing from antiquity that supports Mary Baker Eddy's theology?
