Am I in God's Stead?

Jacob is a self-willed, self-serving sinner. He had put himself in the place of God and His providence with his brother and his father. The spiritual road has been long and trying but finally he is showing some signs of spiritual life. In what ways? He answered his weakness to produce a son by Rachel rhetorically asking, "Am I in God's Stead?" He is seeing God is sovereign.
