The Blessing of Obedience

Strength of will, knowing all the right doctrines, or feeling dependent upon God can never provide sufficient motivation for obedience in the life of the Christian. In this passage Moses provides the second generation, about to enter the Promised Land, with the motivation and obedience that God requires in the covenant that He is remaking with them. The obedience in which God delights is an obedience focused on His promises and the blessings He brings – obedience focused on Him.
