Attaining Assurance: Observations from the Psalms

Attaining assurance is built upon faith in Christ but there should be the right use of means. Assurance is built up over time as He trains us up in His ways. One of the fruits of assurance is being led by God acceptably and ahead in the paths of obedience unto Him. It can take time for God to work out His purposes in the world and in our hearts. When God trains us up to walk in His ways, it sometimes takes time. It is over time that He proves Himself to us. We grow in our understanding. We come to know and feel and cherish the things which are freely given to us. We learn to learn to be at home in the environment of grace and the household of God; to become used to understanding God's promises and to avail ourselves of these things.
