41

Brother Morley taught Personal Evangelism at CMBI for many years & was the Missionary to the Solomon Islands. Bro. Morley thru his sponsoring church built many churches in these islands. Neil V. Morley
Ex-Marine Neil V. Morley; pastor of the Antioch MBC, Lynwood ,California ; had been notified of the planned reunion of the First Marine Division in Anaheim . That was his outfit. He had served well with Carlson's Raiders, a group of about one hundred Marines who fought behind Japanese lines in the first great battle of the Pacific war, The Battle of Guadalcanal.Although he had not yet trusted Jesus as his Savior, God had plans for Neil Morley and brought him safely through five other South Pacific island landings, including Okinawa and Iwo Jima , and the battles that cost so many American lives. He was on a ship heading for a landing on the main island of Japan when President Harry Truman gave the orders that ended WW II. CHANGE OF PLANS
Neil loved the men of the First Marine Division; but because of his new spiritual life and his present position, he had not planned to attend the reunion. He had just settled down to enjoy a cup of coffee and the morning paper when it happened. His plans were changed. He must go to the reunion. Why?There, smiling up at him was the face of a very old and trusted friend, Sergeant Major Jacob Vouza, whom he had fought along side of during the Battle of Guadalcanal. The Marines had sent a plane to bring that old Solomon Islander, whose scouting had helped to save the lives of so many of them, to their reunion. He had to see Jacob again. Picture and Article that appeared in a paper Bro.Morley read:GUADALCANAL HERO GETS ‘BIG-FELLER' WISH. See Romans 71
