Great Conversations

In the introduction to his latest book, well-known speaker and author, Ravi Zacharias states, 'one notion that all religions subscribe to (either explicitly or implicitly) is the notion of exclusive truth. Populists like to deny that premise, but all religions either make this claim or try to covertly smuggle it in.'

That opening observation begins another installment in the 'Great Conversations Series' - a collection of short books containing imaginary dialogs between the Lord Jesus Christ and various historical and or religious figures.

This latest book, entitled 'New Birth or Rebirth?' envisions Jesus having a conversation with Krishna. The resulting imaginary dialog deals with far reaching questions facing real people on a daily basis. Questions such as, 'Does it really matter what I believe?' and 'Is there such a thing as ultimate truth?' As the characters converse, Zacharias presents the simplicity of the gospel of Christ against the backdrop of the complexities of Hinduism - leading readers to ask themselves one of the most important questions: 'Who should I believe?'

Zacharias writes, 'One of my consistent premises throughout this series is that the popular saying ‘All religions are fundamentally the same and only superficially different' simply is not true. It is more correct to say that all religions are, at best, superficially similar but fundamentally different.'
