Peter's Model Gospel Sermon Proclaims a Prince and a Savior
The true Gospel today is seldom preached, but the Apostle Peter delivered a very short model Gospel Sermon in Acts 5.
His sermon describes how God Almighty has set up Jesus as a Prince and a Savior.
This is a hateful message to lost and rebellious sinners, but it is a balm to the sinner broken by his guiltiness.
Oh that lost men might bow before the feet of their Prince and Savior and place their whole life and destiny in His mighty hand.
The Wonder of the Gospel is that the very One set up as Prince and Savior submitted Himself as a ransom for the lowly sinners whom He would deliver and rule for all eternity.
The hearers of Peter's Gospel message were cut to the heart and plotted how they might put him to death. So too, sinners will either embrace the Gospel, or they will continue their rebellion against that One set up to be their Prince - but their rebellion is futile, for He Shall Reign, until He hath put all things under His feet!
