The New Testament minister is faithful to watch over the flock, and he is to feed, comfort, exhort, rebuke, and encourage them as needful. The Christian minister is involved in the lives of the membership as he lives among them. He too is part of the flock and his life is given to the flock. He is not just passing through to go on to another (usually larger) congregation. The minister must have the mercy and strength of the Lord or he will faint in the calling.
