I. The Swearing of Oaths is a Serious Thing

II. The Swearing of Oaths Should be an Unnecessary Thing
a) Oath swearing exposes man's tendency to deceitfulness
b) Honesty renders oaths unnecessary
c) Motives to Honesty

1. Lack of honesty is dishonouring to God
2. Lack of honesty is hurtful to man
3. Lack of honesty is destructive of our witness
