The Battle Belongs to the Lord

327 ( 214 | 113 )

There are 7 main points to today’s lesson. 1) Jehoshaphat and the people in this chapter recognized that there was a problem. The United States is currently in a worse crisis than that of times past and the vast majority of people are in denial about it. The US will not get help unless the nation recognizes the problems and cry out to the Lord. 2) These people sought the Lord and His help. The US Declaration of Independence was not only a declaration of independence from Great Britain, but it was a declaration of dependence on God. 3) Everyone, including little babies, where in the assembly seeking God. We are to teach our children about what God says. 4) After the people were crying out and seeking the Lord, that was when the Spirit of the Lord came. Our only sane response is to realize that our only hope is in the Lord. 5) God told the people what to do and what not to do. When we study God’s word we will know what we are to do. We are to rejoice, express the truth about who God is and what He has done. God does not say don’t feel fear, He does say do not be afraid. We are not to let the fear take control. We do not want God on our side, we want to be on God’s side. 6) The people responded with praise and obedience. 7) The Lord gave an overwhelming victory that left them better off than they were before the attack. God is able to take our problems and turn them into blessings. The people not only obtained material things, but they gained a new joyful response and dependency on the Lord. If we trust in the Lord we have nothing to fear. God always wins.
