Christian Science has a pantheistic view of God
Christian Science teaches that God is all in all. Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures, says 'Nothing possesses reality nor existence except the divine Mind and His ideas.' The divine Mind is another way Christian Scientists refer to God. Mary also said “God, Spirit, being all, nothing is matter”, in Science and Health With Key to the Scripture. In Mary Baker Eddy's book Miscellaneous, she says “All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-All”. Are you confused yet? In other words, all matter is illusion and everything is God. They argue that since God is all in all, anything that is not God does not exist. So when a man enters a movie theatre in Aurora Colorado, with a gun and starts shooting at people, the death, pain and suffering that follow are just an illusion and God is all. We must wander, if God is all, is he also this illusion of death, pain and suffering or, did he cause this horrible illusion? If God is all good, all is God and from God nothing bad can come, how can this incredibly persistent tragedy of an illusion happen?
Yet Christian Science claims evil is not real
XXXI. Since God is All, there is no room for His
unlikeness. God, Spirit, alone created all, and called it
good. Therefore evil, being contrary to good,
is unreal, and cannot be the product of God.
