Our text (11:1-6) is a well known portion of Ecclesiastes. It contains proverbs within a proverb - “It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.” How does one respond to this life of disappointments and difficulties? The pessimist says - “don't shine brass on sinking ship” The “Preacher” says. “Be Bold in Faith.” Cast yourself upon Christ in faith. Live for Christ by faith
