This is part of the series on 'Precursors to the Protestant Reformation'. This lesson focuses on 'The Rise of Christian Humanism'. That sounds like a strange term in our day, but Pastor Jeff explains what the movement was and its importance in paving the way toward the Reformation.

Desiderius Eramsmus was possibly the most important of those we can call 'Christian Humanists'. He was a man of great learning and stressed education. He was respected by Martin Luther, but their theological views were not the same. In fact, 'Bondage of the Will' was written as an answer to Erasmus.

This series focuses in on God's Providential workings to pave the way toward the Protestant Reformation.
