The Confusion of Suffering

Suffering produces many responses in the life of a believer, but as many passages in the book of Job show, a byproduct of suffering is often confusion. Believers facing suffering can wrongly believe they are being punished, they can wrongly believe they have been forgotten or cast off and they can fail to see God's overarching plan for their lives, which can only be perfected through suffering. These are just some of the examples of confusion that can plague a believer during times of suffering.
