Woe Unto You Scribes And Pharisees

The wonderful works of God are proclaimed on any page of the Bible. Also here in Matt 23.
Now, this is a long chapter. Allow me to focus on just a few verses here and there. Please turn to verse 23. What was so bad about tithing the spices they were using, like mint and anise and cumin? Well, that was not bad in itself, but these were rules of worship that they had laid upon themselves. These were man made rules.

But the rules that God has laid upon them, those they had omitted. They were the spiritual leaders of the Jews.

They should have been preaching about Judgment, and about Mercy, and about Faith. These are the weightier matters of the Law.

This is what they should have done as a first priority, rather than focus all their attention on the lesser importance of the ceremonial law.
