The Day of Salvation

The day of salvation for the Assyrians is referred to here in Isaiah. Historically the Egyptians and the Assyrians were arch-enemies. But notice how God wrote this: There shall be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria. Egypt reaches out to her arch-enemy Assyria. Egypt became saved, and now she desires that salvation also for Assyria. This is how Christ calls us to love our enemies.
