Paul is confident the Lord will work through Him and the missionaries as well as the Thessalonians to accomplish His will, yet Paul requests the Thessalonians to pray for them that the Lord will enable their ministry of the word of the Lord to be successful and to be delivered the the evil men opposing them. That is the balance of being both confident and prayerful.
