- THE GOD WHO IS PRAISED
- “able to do...think'
- “able to do above all”
- “exceedingly above what we are able to ask or think'
- this shows us that God’s blessings are beyond our limits!
“according to...within us” – note 3 usages of “according to” - in 3:16 – God’s power “measured” by his very being!
- in 1:19 – God’s power “measured” by this act of redemption
- in 3:20 – God’s power “measured” by his work in us!
- THE PRAISE OF GOD IN THE CHURCH
“to him be glory” - ie “let him have all the praise for ever”
- God’s work in the church brings him praise and glory!
“in the Church” – see also v.10 – the church is God’s “stage” where he puts on a show of his wisdom and power! - “by Jesus Christ” – all God’s work in the church is “through” Jesus Christ!
“through...ever” – the church will exist forever!
