The Law of Christ

The Apostle Paul made it clear that he was not 'under the Law' but rather under the 'Law of Christ.' What does this phrase mean? In essence, Paul is teaching that believers are to live by following the example of Christ in terms of self sacrifice and giving up rights for the sake of others. While commandments are certainly given under the New Covenant, the ethical standard cannot be boiled down to a list of do's and don'ts. As forgiven and Spirit-indwelt people we imitate Christ by loving the Lord and each other.
