Priority of Word, Necessity of Deed

In this passage the growing church encounters grumbling from widows who are overlooked in the distribution of goods. The apostles response is to find others to do the job; not because they are unwilling to serve in such a capacity, but because they understand the priority of the ministry of the word while also understanding the necessity of ministering to the need of these widows.

This sermon considers the validity of the concern raised, the solution provided and the reason priority is given to preaching and prayer.
