Believe what God has Promised

God knew the love that Abraham had for Him. God wanted to reveal to Abraham who he was when He asked him to offer Isaac. Abraham put his faith in the words God spoke to him. We have God's word to put our faith in. It doesn't do any good to tell our children what they should be if they look at our lives and don't see that out of us. We need to confess our faults and repent so that our children see that out of us.
