Mt. Olivet Discourse - The Powers of Heaven

Jesus now tells His disciples the results of the Temple's destruction. The natural, religious order, as the people of that time had come to know it, would be totally disrupted. This disruption will be caused, not by wars or commotions; and not by false religions. Rather, it is brought about because the One who is God and Man will be seated in the heavens with all authority, and the manifestation of His authority will now be plain. The era of Abraham, Moses, and David is gone, having now reached its fulfillment in the era of the ascended Christ. Even so, the worship of God in types and shadows is gone, and the Old Covenant with Israel is voided. God's judgment falls on Israel. Yet, God's Son brings about a New Covenant, established on His finished work and exaltation.
