How God Rebuilds His People

As we come to Nehemiah 7 we enter into a new section, which has been called the “second book,” of Nehemiah where the focus shifts from rebuilding the walls, to rebuilding the people. This process begins by establishing civil and spiritual leaders in the region and establishing who is in and who is out. This sets the stage for populating the city itself which is recorded in chapter 11.
