The One a Pharisee

The account before us sounds real. Yet, Luke clarified this is a parable. Jesus called the first man a Pharisee. That was bold talk for that day and occasion. He painted him in a dim light. The man addressed God, yet his interest was himself. He described others by such terms as extortion, unjust and adultery, In reality, he spoke of himself. He spoke of the publican with a denigrating aspersion. He was religious but lost.
