A Pattern of Longsuffering

The patience which is being referred to in our text is the patience of our Lord Jesus Christ which was shown toward the Apostle both before and after his conversion. He confesses that this is the reason why he obtained mercy. It was because the Lord Jesus intended to set forth His perfect patience which he exercised toward Paul as an example to all who would believe in Him for everlasting life.
