GO01 The Cost of Discipleship

63

How does one understand, "come as you are" and "forsake all and follow me"? It has become apparent that many christians today believe coming as you are means giving up nothing. Yet this text teaches us something very different. Jesus will not be second place or even equal with anything else in our lives. He most have prominence. To follow him is costly, it is calculated and it requires making assents about those things and people in our lives that may hinder such true discipleship.
