10. The cross & true healing

468 ( 304 | 164 )

Ministry School 2008: This is the heart of our proclamation. Understanding the work of the cross is, however, seemingly a rare thing in the world, as the efforts of many to make up the perceived deficiencies of the cross abound. We must see how the work of the cross actually effects great transformation of men and women: the cleansing of the conscience, real and not merely possible salvation, justification, sanctification, and the giving of a secure hope, and so on. Men and women are truly ‘healed' though we should not see sin and its consequences as a disease to be cured; rather the healing is the saving of men and women, individually and corporately, from the ravages of guilt and moral pollutions etc.
