9. Foolishness and idolatry

Ministry School 2008: Idolatry is a deep foolishness, and the New Testament regularly carries warnings against it. Idolatry is endemic to fallen humanity and no less a problem for today's church and people as for the early church. It is the foolish attempt to be ‘as God'. The adopting of the images of others always results in the internalising of the foolishness of those others, so that their gods become our gods and our bondage deeper and more ugly.
