Let the One who Boasts, Boast in the Lord

All of the struggles in the book of Judges are due to a lack of faith, and God was looking for a leader who would simply worship him and take him at his word. In our passage, the drastic reduction of troops demonstrated God's power to save Israel, and brought him glory. It also challenged Gideon and encouraged Israel to trust God.
