2Sam014 Rape and Murder

This chapter is not for the faint of heart as we read about rape and murder in David's own house. David's responses to the evil which breaks out under his own roof shows us that he is a man who has become spiritually lethargic and that he has lost control of his home. As dark and distressing as this chapter is however, we do see Christ revealed as the Lord of the covenant who pours out curses and affliction upon David and his home in faithfulness to the prophetic word spoken through Nathan.
