Ready for heaven

This is the first of four pillars of salvation blessing which support the practice of thanksgiving to the Father.

Paul's statement that we have been qualified to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light presumes a need (that by nature we are unqualified and disqualified), declares an act (God himself has qualified us, rendering us entitled to and sufficient for something), describes a blessing (partaking of the inheritance of the saints, a concept rich with Old Testament colour), and suggests an environment (the kingdom of Christ is characterised by light).

The Father has qualified us for heavenly glory by uniting us to Jesus Christ, and constituting us sons by adoption. This is our sure inheritance.
