#12 The Uniform of Christian Unity

Language or the ability to communicate is essential to unity. But, because sin distorts and corrupts everything, even communication gets corrupted. So to live is Christ, to walk in Christ, is to see a reversal of the effects of sin, and fundamentally involves communicating rightly, or communicating truthfully. What is the foundation of truthful communication? Difficult conversations are some of the hardest part of life. Our tendency as humans is to try to lessen the impart. Maybe leave out a few details so the pain isn't so great. How do you tell people something you know is going to cut them to the heart? Truth telling isn't as easy as it might seem. Yet, truth-telling is to be a definitive characteristic of Christian communities. Where truth is compromised, unity is compromised.
