Matthew 1:1-17

In 17 verses Matthew has linked the Old and New Testaments, shown that Jesus is the promised Messiah, a Son of Abraham and the rightful heir to David’s throne, declared the grace of God—that He would include sinners in His family tree, broken down walls between Jew and Gentile, male and female, and proven over and over that He is a trustworthy God who keeps His promises.
